What Changed — verified rule and rate changes
Rules and rates change quietly, and old numbers keep circulating for years. This page records every change that affects this site's answers — only after the order itself has been read — with the date it took effect and the order behind it. Our own mistakes live on a different page: the corrections log.
Changes so far
- Effective 1 January 2026 Dearness Relief raised from 58% to 60% — For all pensioners and family pensioners, expressly including Armed Forces pensioners. Arrears for January–March 2026 are payable. Order: DoP&PW OM No. 42/02/2024-P&PW(D), dated 24 April 2026. Every calculator on this site uses the new rate — see rates.json.
- Effective 1 April 2025 AGIF subscription and cover revised — Officers now ₹12,500 a month for ₹1.25 crore cover (+₹25 lakh disability cover); JCOs/OR ₹7,500 for ₹75 lakh (+₹12.5 lakh). Approved by AGIF's 80th Board of Governors. Order: AGIF letter No. A/56271/R/AG/Ins (Coord), dated 22 April 2025 — read from the scan published by PCDA (O) Pune. Details on the AGIF page.
- Effective 1 February 2024 CSD car entitlement moved from engine capacity to pay level — The old cc-based matrix stands superseded: entitlement now goes by pay level with price caps excluding taxes (Level 3–5: ₹8 lakh, 6–9: ₹10 lakh, 10–18: ₹20 lakh; EVs ₹5 lakh higher), an eight-year gap between cars, lifetime counts for Levels 3–9 — and pensioner widows/next of kin expressly entitled against the unused quota. Order: CS Dte letter No. 95350/Q/DDGCS/Car Policy, dated 30 November 2023. Check yours on the CSD entitlement checker.
How an entry gets here
A change is recorded only when the order itself has been read — not from a news report or a forum post. The same day, the rates file, both language versions of every affected page and the calculators are updated together. If we got something wrong along the way, that goes on the corrections log, publicly.
Important note
This page tracks what the orders say; it is not a government website. Your own case is always confirmed by your Record Office or the office that pays your pension.
