This site is built by an ex-serviceman who also builds software.

That combination is the reason it exists. Most of what is written about defence pension online comes from people who never wore the uniform — and it shows. One site calculates a soldier's family pension under the civilian rulebook; another does not know that Military Service Pay counts towards pension at all. The people who know the service usually cannot build a website; the people who can build one do not know the service. Here both sit in the same head.

This is not a government website

The name carries the word "Sainik", so this goes on every page and in the largest words here: Sainik Desk has no connection with any government body — no Sainik Board, no Zila Sainik Welfare Office, no Ministry of Defence. This site only explains what publicly issued rules and orders say. The decision on your case is always taken by your Record Office or the office that pays your pension.

Why there is no name on it

There is no name, no rank and no photograph on this site — that is a deliberate decision. Trust should be built by the work, not by a name, and that work can be checked: every figure carries its government order, every page shows when it was last checked, all rates sit in one public file, mistakes go into a public corrections log, and there is an address that gets answered. The day any of those links breaks, you have every right to withdraw your trust.

What you will never find here

• Nothing touching the security of the armed forces. In no form.
• No address of any military station, unit, Record Office or centre — not even where it is published elsewhere. Where you need an address, we explain how to look it up on the official portal.

The test is simple: if the government has published it for the public, explaining it clearly is our job; if it is known only because of the uniform, it does not go on this site.

How the site is funded

No advertising, no subscription, nothing for sale — none of it, right now. If that ever changes, it will be written on this page, not hidden.
