Why one price list cannot be true everywhere

1. State taxes differ. The saving at CSD comes from tax concessions, and taxes are a state subject — so the same item carries a different price at depots in different states. This is not our theory; it is CSD's own FAQ.
2. Rate lists keep moving. Depot rate lists are revised through the year. A list that was true in January misleads in August — and almost no list on the internet carries a date.
3. AFD prices are personal and live. For cars, bikes and appliances, the price that matters is the one inside your login on afd.csdindia.gov.in — shown live, depot-wise, for the models actually listed with CSD today.

How to spot a stale list in ten seconds

• No date, no depot name — then it is nobody's price. A genuine rate list belongs to one depot on one date.
• Discontinued models still listed — several "CSD price list" sites still carry two-wheelers that left the market years ago. If the item is not sold anymore, the list was not updated anymore.
• WhatsApp PDFs — the most-forwarded lists are the oldest ones. Forwarding does not refresh a price.
• A flat "CSD discount %" — there is no such number; the concession varies item to item and state to state.

Why this site does not publish a price list

Because we would be lying within a month. Our rule across the site is simple: figures we have not verified, we do not print — and a price that is true at one depot today is already wrong at another depot the same day. What we do publish is what stays true and dated: the entitlement caps by pay level, the card process with real screenshots, and this page's honest map of where prices actually live.

Questions and answers

Where can I find the CSD liquor price list?

At your own URC — the canteen's current rate list is the only one that is true for you. Liquor prices differ state to state because state taxes differ, so an "all-India CSD liquor price list" cannot be correct anywhere except by accident. Any list without a date and a depot name is a guess.

Is the CSD price list on the internet correct?

Usually not. Most are undated, copied from older lists, and some still carry models discontinued years ago. Before trusting any list, check three things: does it name the depot, does it carry a date, and does the item still exist in the market? The live prices are at the depot and, for AFD items, inside your own login on afd.csdindia.gov.in.

How much cheaper is a car through CSD?

The saving comes from tax concessions, so the rupee amount varies by model and by state. What is fixed is the entitlement: price caps by pay level (excluding taxes), an eight-year gap between cars and lifetime counts for Levels 3–9 — the table is in our entitlement checker. The real figure for you shows inside your own AFD portal login, depot-wise — not on any public list.

Does CSD publish an official all-India price list?

We have not found one that is public, current and all-India. What exists officially: the rate list at each depot and URC, and live item prices inside the AFD portal login. That is also why this page does not print prices — figures we cannot verify, we do not publish.
